the high court

a fellow staffer took a look at my personal statement and basically tore it apart. not a single positive remark about a single word i wrote. why did i go to college? because i'm supposed to and i was smart enough to realize that. why law school? because everything else sucks. what sets me apart from other people? well i didn't climb mount kilimanjaro like you so i can't write about that. basically nothing though. i'm just like the rest of you. potomac waters are rough tonight. everything is. i have to waste my night taking natalie cook to pick up her boyfriend from dulles at 11. i'm thinking i won't go north for the weekend. i'm sure we can save the money and maybe i'll work on my letter and lsat crap. or not. law school isn't for everyone and starting to believe that i'm of of those everyone. i don't want to talk to anyone, email anyone, eat, work, etc. a good night's sleep would be good. we all have our problems but i want to be in matt's shoes.

casanova: heath ledger is gay. brokeback mountain: interesting cast. so, so, so strange sounding so i won't even mention the plot. possible. funny now that i've seen this trailer and the comment i wrote about casanova. the matador: retarded.

Walk the Line (2005): there's a lot to live up with this one. right off the bat are great kid actors. reese is the cutest thing in all of this here universe. the music and chemistry between these two are what make this movie. a few plot holes here and there. his parents aged pretty well for like a thirty year span. overall, the acting is impeccable. i think that's the first time i've used that word on here. impeccable. the theater's speakers started to wig out toward the end. it's nothing you'd want to watch over and over again unless you want to be reminded of how freaking lucky ryan phillipe is. see it.

i'm sitting in the supreme court (sc). i'm actually sitting, in the court room. we can't take pics so this will have to do. i also have blink 182 rocking out in my ipod. getting a lecture on the court because they aren't in session right now. it's pretty amazing though. what i learned: sc likes to take cases where there are split decisions between ct of appeals. 80/1000 cases were heard last year. november 30, 10:00 am is when the next case will be heard. no live stenographer. row of seats for sc bar members. there is a crank to lower and raise the lectern. white light - 25 minutes have passed. haha. fiddy's p.i.m.p. is on now. it's something else going down the marble steps of the sc building. makes me wonder so many things. could i ever walk down these one day after arguing a case? will i ever leave any courtroom after arguing a case? i don't feel like dealing with christmas gifts and cards and letters. at this point it's more of a hassle than anything. today we got off work at like 11:30. only 11 of 27 people even came to work today. 11/28 counting the boss. i've noticed black women are very loud. anyways, made the rounds with mail twice, had some french toast and talked with shawn, our new legal counsel, about law school and stuff that may never apply to me. you know, it would suck if bombs went off on this bridge, but at least i wouldn't have to deal with law school crap anymore. and if i live, then i'd finally have something unique to say in my personal statement. it's random to bring up, but every time i cross the potomac i think about the convo that the natalie's and i were talking about with how terrorists could cripple the government. they either don't seem to be that clever or another terrorist attack on u.s. soil is slightly more difficult than it used to be. let's hope the latter.
